What was the highlight of Lancaster Kumasi
Secure and convenient, with good meals, but this hotel is currently resting on ancient laurels.
The breakfast buffet was good, particularly if you got in before the rush (0630-0715). It offered a diverse menu, including fresh fruit. The one dinner we had in the restaurant was also good, including vegetables cooked just right. In both cases they could consider expanding the hot food buffet area (or removing something from it) in order to reduce crowding. The staff were generally cordial and helpful. The grounds appear well-maintained, and are pleasant to walk around. There were only a couple of smokers, and they were confined to a remote outdoor area.
Check-in took 45 minutes for some reason, and did not seem to match my order on Booking.com. As we walked down the hall the receptionist ran to catch up to us and offer us free breakfast included. Once we got to the room it became clear that it was not the poolside view we requested - and with the price of breakfast matching that of the upgrade to poolside view, all she had offered was compensation for not providing what I requested; she could simply have explained the situation, and I would have felt better about it. The room and hallways were poorly lit, hallway carpets were worn threadbare, and interior of the hotel could use a sprucing - or more. The pool was closed - indefinitely. The room had no towels when we arrived, and it took the staff two trips for us to have a full complement of towels. The next day there were a couple of towels placed in the room upon our return at the end of the day, although it was unclear whether an attempt had been made to replace the used towels. The keycard failed on the second day as well, requiring replacement. Each room had a phone, but it was non-functional, necessitating a walk from our lower level room, up two flights of stairs, and down a hallway each time we need to speak to staff.

What was the highlight of Lancaster Kumasi
My first time in Kumasi and Lancaster made me not to worry about my residency and feeding.
An assured standard classic hotel located in a serene part of the city.
The rug carpets on the corridors are old and smelly. Let the hotel remove them and replace them with bright reflective tiles. They will make the corridors cool and they are easy to maintain.

The Beauty of the hotel
The hotel is nice though but I saw some leakages on top of the building as I stand outside.
The wooling carpet was smelling. If something can be done about it. It will enhance the beauty of the hotel.

not worth the money
Location
The splendor of the hotel is long gone, but ok, I can stand it. However, the omnipresent dirt is already a scandal, I got a dirty sheet, and in the bathroom full of someone's hair. Only after my intervention was the sheet changed. Disgusting. Another thing is that this is one of the more expensive hotels in the city, and that the price does not give breakfast. Poor thing, but they take advantage of the market. However, this is not how you build a brand.
